What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrivals are possible from 5pm. Our cottages have secure key boxes with a code, allowing you to arrive independently. Once the deposit is confirmed, you will receive all the necessary instructions for your arrival as well as the access code.

Departure is scheduled no later than 10am. Early or late afternoon departures are sometimes possible, with an additional fee and only after prior agreement with the owners.

Does a child under 2 years old count as a person?

Yes. It is important to indicate babies when booking. Your baby is covered like the rest of the family.

It is also important not to exceed the regulatory capacity of your cottage. Your baby must therefore be declared as a child when booking.

Some cottages, especially larger ones, are equipped with baby equipment: high chairs, bathtubs, etc.

Can I arrive late in the evening?

No need to worry about late arrivals: we use secure key boxes. This allows you to arrive outside of regular hours.

However, make sure you have received and understood the instructions for your arrival. We would like, as much as possible, not to be disturbed between 10 pm and 7 am.

What activities and visits can be done in the region?

The region of Étretat and the Alabaster Coast offers numerous possibilities for visits and activities, by the sea as well as in the Normandy hinterland.

Near our cottages, you can enjoy the beaches of Étretat, Yport and Fécamp, discover the famous cliffs of Étretat, hike on the GR21, go cycling, engage in water activities, or explore the Alabaster Coast on horseback.

In Fécamp, you can visit the Palais Bénédictine, Les Pêcheries - Fécamp Museum, the harbour, Cap Fagnet, and the abbey of the Holy Trinity.

Many other Norman destinations are also accessible for a day trip: Veules-les-Roses, Le Havre, Honfleur, Deauville, Trouville-sur-Mer, or the D-Day beaches.

To prepare for your stay and discover the entertainment, guided tours, hikes, and activities offered during your visit, we also recommend checking the websites of the tourist offices of Étretat, Le Havre, and Fécamp.

Can I organise a party or wedding at the cottage?

Our cottages are not intended for weddings, receptions, or events and do not have the necessary regulatory capacity to host this type of event.

The total number of people present in the cottage must not exceed its maximum capacity, which is 15 people for our largest accommodations.

A small private party among the occupants of the cottage is still possible, respecting the accommodation's capacity and the neighbourhood. The music must remain at a reasonable level and, in the evening, be played only indoors, with windows closed, to avoid any noise disturbance.

What is included in the rental price?

The rental rate corresponds to the lease for the period of your stay as well as the tourist taxes. This rate includes water, electricity, and heating consumption.

The rate of your stay is also calculated based on the number of people indicated at the time of booking.

Do the rental rates vary according to the seasons?

Yes. The rate of our cottages is calculated day by day and may vary depending on the days of the week, the periods of the year, and the seasons.

Additional discounts may also apply: last-minute discount, early booking or special offers. The rate is also calculated based on the number of travellers: adults, children and babies.

Are bed linen and towels provided?

No. We have chosen to reduce the rate of our rentals and offer bed linen and towels as an option. This allows families who bring their own linen to benefit from a more attractive stay rate.

You will need to specify before your arrival if you wish to take the linen option. If you choose this option, the linen will be available in your cottage upon arrival. The bed linen will be placed on the beds, but the beds will not be made.

If you bring your own linen, remember to bring pillowcases, duvet covers, fitted sheets as well as your towels. Pillows and duvets are provided.

The bed dimensions are indicated in the listing description and will also be reminded to you in an email a few days before your arrival.

What should we bring for our stay?

In principle, you should bring the products you will consume during your stay: toilet paper, bin bags, oil, food products, etc.

However, we do provide a minimum for your arrival and to help you out: oil, salt, pepper, vinegar, and toilet paper.

What is the security deposit for?

The security deposit is requested from you a few days before your rental by email. It is mandatory and a prerequisite for validating your rental.

The security deposit is used to cover any damages, degradation, or additional costs identified after your stay in the cottage. It is not cashed if the accommodation is returned in a satisfactory condition and if the rental conditions have been respected. It is released a few days after your departure.

Are animals allowed in our cottages?

No. Animals are not allowed in our cottages, even small animals, especially for allergy-related reasons.

People who book our accommodations are thus assured of not being inconvenienced by animal fur. The duvets and pillows also do not contain feathers.

Can I change the number of travellers?

It is generally possible to change the number of travellers, provided that the maximum capacity of the cottage is not exceeded.

It is imperative to modify the booking so that the actual number of people present matches the number of people indicated at the time of booking. This is important for the validity of the rental, but also for insurance purposes.

The rate may be adjusted when modifying the booking.

Can we charge an electric vehicle at the holiday cottages?

No. There are no electric vehicle charging points on our properties.

It is also prohibited to plug an electric vehicle into a cottage socket using an extension lead. The rental rate is based on standard electricity consumption related to the use of the accommodation.

I want to change my dates of stay. How can I do this?

If you wish to change the dates of your stay, please contact us as soon as possible. We will check the availability of the cottage and, where possible, offer you a change of dates.

An adjustment to the rate may be applied depending on the new period chosen.

Why are the rates not the same on different booking platforms?

Our holiday cottages are available on our official website www.villasdenormandie.fr as well as on various partner booking platforms, including Gites de France, Booking.com, Airbnb, and Abritel.

Rates and offers may vary from one site to another depending on the commissions, promotions offered, and commercial conditions specific to each platform. Some discounts are also reserved for travellers who make their reservation directly on our official website.

Depending on the platform used, payment for your stay may be collected directly by the platform or made with us.

In most cases, the security deposit related to the stay is managed directly by the owners and independently of the payment made to the booking platform.

By booking on www.villasdenormandie.fr, you are booking directly with the owners, without commissions.

How are payments and collections secured?

For reservations made directly on our site, we have our own professional banking collection solution with Crédit Mutuel, with a distance selling contract.

Credit card payments are made using a secure banking solution. We never ask you to provide us with the complete information of your credit card by email or phone.

When you book through a platform such as Booking.com, Airbnb or Abritel, the collection methods may vary: depending on the reservation, the payment may be collected by the platform or directly by us.

The security deposit is always managed directly by the owners and is requested separately before your arrival.

Is there a barbecue?

Most of our cottages have a barbecue. It is your responsibility to bring your charcoal and everything you need to light it.

However, usage restrictions may apply in summer, especially during heatwaves or in case of fire risk.

Are there any shops nearby?

Our cottages are located in small villages. Supermarkets are generally within a 20-minute drive.

You will also find small village grocery stores offering essential products and, for some, a bread depot.

Where is the nearest beach? Is it sandy or pebbly?

Depending on the cottage, the beaches of Étretat, Yport, or Fécamp are among the closest. The beaches in this part of the Alabaster Coast are mainly pebbly.

At Saint-Jouin-Bruneval, a large sandy beach appears at mid-tide and low tide. Water activities are also available, making it a particularly pleasant destination for families with young children.

Are our holiday cottages subject to ERP standards?

No. Our holiday cottages are tourist furnished accommodations with a maximum capacity limited to 15 people. They are not intended to accommodate the public beyond the planned capacity of the accommodation.

Therefore, it is not possible to accommodate additional people, even if they do not sleep on the premises.

Are our holiday cottages accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM)?

Our holiday cottages do not have specific facilities to guarantee full accessibility for people with reduced mobility. None of our holiday cottages or their facilities are specifically adapted for PRM.

If you have difficulty moving around, please contact us before making your reservation. We can provide you with precise information on access, rooms, bathrooms, and the layout of each accommodation.

Can we accommodate a group of minors under the Child Welfare Services (ASE) or another scheme?

Our holiday cottages are primarily intended for family stays and adult groups.

Regulations provide for specific provisions when 7 or more minors are accommodated outside their family. As our accommodations are not intended for this type of collective accommodation for minors, we cannot accept this type of stay.

This restriction naturally does not apply to children and teenagers staying in the usual family holiday setting.
